Darius Husain/ (Program Director, LEA, 8/20/00-Present)     651-772-5554
Mr. Husain holds a B.A. in Psychology with emphasis on experiential education from St. Johnís University. He has completed all Master's course work in School Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. Darius worked at St. Johnís as the psychology department coordinator, advising students, supervising student workers, and teaching college level courses. In Summer of 2000, Darius was offered the position of School Counselor at Face to Face Academy.   His job duties included counseling, teaching, case managing, and directing all physical education activities. In the Spring of 2007, Darius became the Program Director of the Academy. His duties included running the day to day programming of the school, supervising all staff, ensuring the a positive and safe learning environment, addressing parentsí needs and concerns, serving as the LEA, attracting and orienting new students, and all financial matters. Darius believes it is an honor and privilege to be the head administrator of this education community and he inspired daily by the students and staff that surround him.

Ms. Plum received a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota in 1996. Before coming to Face to Face, she was a long-term substitute teacher at Cretin-Derham Hall High School. She did her student teaching at Arlington Senior High in St. Paul.

Bryan Bakke (Special Education Instructor, 7-12 EBD/SLD, 7/01/2008-Present)    651-772-5553
Mr. Bakke received his B.A. from Augsburg College in Minneapolis in 2008, an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts at Inver Hills Community College in 1996 and a degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting from Brown College in 1995. Prior to working at Face to Face Academy, he served for two years as a paraprofessional in the Richfield School District for pre-school age students through high school. He completed his student teaching at Central School in Richfield, MN working with level 4-5 EBD students. He was a high school football assistant coach for Simley high school in Inver Grove Heights for 4 seasons from 2001-2004. He was also member of the Carpenterís Union for nine years and worked in the Twin Cities.

Mr. Meyer received a B.S. in Secondary Education from University of Wisconsin, River Falls, in 1998. He has a double teaching major in Social Studies, emphasis on history, and Communication. Jason also leads the Speech Team at Eden Prairie High School since 2000.
Loan Nguyen MSEd (Instructor, 5-12 Mathematics, 7/01/05 Ė present)
Ms. Nguyen received her B.S. degree in Mathematics in June 2005 from the University of Minnesota and completed her Master Degree in the Fall of 2011. She completed her student teaching at Southwest High School in Minneapolis and worked previously as a math and reading tutor.

Chana has a passion and commitment to working with youth. She has worked in many capacities as a youth worker including youth shelters, summer camps, after-school programs, and arts-based programs. Chana earned a BA in American Studies from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2005 and a Masters in Social Work from AugsburgCollege in 2013. She is looking forward to exploring some of her personal interests, including art and outdoor adventure, with the Face to Face Academy community.

Mr. Roark received a B.S. in Secondary Science Education in 1993 from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Prior to coming to Face to Face Academy, he taught Biology I, Biology II, Zoology and Botany for six years at Tahlequah High School, Biology I and Physical Science one year at Wagoner High School, and Biology I and Physical Science one year at Washburn High School in Minneapolis, MN. Mr. Roark has been teaching at Face To Face Academy since September 10th, 2001.

Lucy Voller is an artist and art educator living in Minneapolis MN. She has a BA in both Studio Art and Art Education from the University of Minnesota in Duluth. She has taught in a variety of different settings, and actively participates in the vibrant art community of the Twin Cities.  Lucyís personal artwork includes mixed media collages, jewelry and paintings. She is eager to teach, learn and grow with the students and staff of Face to Face Academy!
Tim Zwiers LGSW(School Social Worker, October 2010-present)
Tim earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Calvin College in 2006. Tim worked as a school social worker in New Mexico for three years before moving to the twin cities to continue his education at the University of Minnesota. Tim graduated from UMN in August of 2010 with his Masterís Degree in social work.
